Estudos quantitativos apontam benefícios da meditação como aumento da capacidade de foco e atenção, calma e equilibrio emocional. Uma pesquisa na Califórnia com mais de 700 estudantes demonstrou que professores notam mudanças em seus alunos:

Porque mindfulness nas escolas?
Estando mais conscientes de nossos pensamentos, emoções, aumenta o entendimento dos sentimentos nossos e dos outros. Pesquisas mostram que indivíduos randomicamente assignados para um treinamento em mindfulness foram mais propensos a ajudar pessoas em necessidade e também a desenvolverem maior autocompaixão.
